This is an excellent version of a late harvest. With 60% of the riesling grapes affected by botrytis, and from a cool year that allowed the acidity to be preserved, this shows a sugar-acidity balance that’s unusual among examples of the style in Chile. With 125 grams of sugar per liter, the acidity has to fight to maintain its prominence, and it does that by making the candied white fruit seem much easier, more approachable, and not at all cloying in this dessert wine.
